BSG Interns - Internship and Trainee Hospitality Programmes in the USA

BSG specialises in placing European Hospitality Management student interns at prestigious private clubs, plus fine hotels and resorts along the east coast of the US.

By means of a J-1 cultural exchange program visa, students spend up to a year availing themselves of what is an exceptionally formative personal and professional opportunity.
If you have already secured your placement through BSG Interns please read the information on this page carefully as it will guide you through the process of gaining your J1 Visa.

  • Applications are open year-round, enabling candidates to apply at their convenience.

    US Host Companies working with BSG Interns have start dates at different times of the year - pease contact your BSG Interns representative directly for further information

    • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time university level course.

    • Alternatively, J1 Intern applicants may be within 12 months of completing their studies at the time they plan to start the internship.

    • J1 Trainee applicants must have a degree or professional qualification PLUS at least 12 months full time work experience*

    *If a J1 Trainee applicant does not have a degree or professional qualification, they must be able to provide reference letters confirming at least 5 years full time work experience in their field

    We do not accept ANY applications from individuals with a criminal conviction - regardless of where this was made

  • If you have previously participated in a J-1 Intern/Trainee program, you are subject to rules regarding repeat programs.

    You are not considered a repeater if you have previously completed a different J-1 program, such as Work & Travel USA.

  • In order to enter the USA on a J1 Visa Programme you must have a passport that is valid for AT LEAST 3 months AFTER the end date of your internship or traineeship.
    Please make sure your passport meets these requirements.

    If not your application will be subject to delays as your legal paperwork (the DS-2019) can NOT be issued without a passport that meets these criteria.
