The Application
The application process is simple to understand and can be done on any computer - but there are some documents you will need to add into your account in order to complete the process!
We recommend having these to hand when completing the application, but if you don't have them yet, don't worry - you can save your progress as you move through the application and enter them in at a later date.
You will need to save this, then upload into your online account when required
Documents you will need to upload into your online application:
Copy of Passport ID Page: this should be valid for at least 6 months after your intended return from the United StatesConfirmation of Student Status or Proof of award/ degree
Completed DS-7002 Training Plan (see below)
J1 Trainees ONLY - 2 Reference Letters: These can be either from previous employers or academic reference and employer
The Pan Atlantic Fee Form: Once completed you should upload this into the Fee Form section of your online account
Documents your US Host Company will need to complete for your application
-
DS-7002 Training Plan
THIS IS A US GOVERNMENT DOCUMENT REQUIRED FOR BOTH J1 INTERN AND J1 TRAINEE PROGRAMMES
Training Plans must show your proposed activities in detail.
Training Plans in hospitality must have at least 3 phases
This should be completed as an editable PDF. It should NOT be signed by either your US Host company or you - signatures will be requested electronically as part of the approval process
-
Pan Atlantic Host Company Agreement
This document provides details on your US Host Company, including relevant information required in order to be able to approve an application.
You will need to send this to our team via email as quickly as possible, as an application can not move forward without it!
*Your Hosts will also need to provide a copy of their Workers Compensation Policy - or an official exemption if they do not have this
Pan Atlantic Training Plan Magic
You can get a Training Plan by submitting in either of two ways.
A) You can fill out the "Input Information" Tab.
B) You can input data by uploading a completed or partially completed Editable PDF form. The form must be editable.
You will receive your training plan by email in no more than 180 seconds.
Existing training plans will be made better. Or we will create a generic plan for you if you don't provide many details. The more information you provide, the better the training plan that is returned to you will be.
You can submit a training plan as many times as you like for enhancement. You can submit a pdf that you have received from us for a second go-around.
If you get a training plan returned to you and all of the fields say "None", just resubmit your information or pdf a second time. AI can be quirky that way...
How to Use the Input Information Tab
1. You must enter the required information for at least 3 phases, and up to 5 total phases.
2. Your training plan will be better if you offer concrete suggestions in as many fields as you can.
3. When you receive your training plan, you can edit it, add more information and then re-submit the training plan for further enhancement using the "Upload PDF" tab.
Not required, but will enhance the quality of the TiPP - keywords or brief descriptions in each of the following fields, for each phase:
Description of Trainee/Intern's role for this program or phase.
Specific goals and objectives for this program or phase.
Please list the names and titles of those who will provide continuous (for example, daily) supervision of the Trainee/Intern, including the primary supervisor. What are these persons' qualifications to teach the planned learning?
What plans are in place for the Trainee/Intern to participate in cultural activities while in the United States?
What specific knowledge, skills, or techniques will be learned?
How specifically will these knowledge, skills, or techniques be taught? Include specific tasks and activities (Interns) and/ or methodology of training and chronology/syllabus (Trainees).
How will the Trainee/Intern's acquisition of new skills and competencies be measured?
Additional Phase Remarks (optional)
How to Use the Upload PDF Tab
1. The document must be an editable PDF (you can type into the fields...). If the document isn't editable, you will get a generic training plan
2. The document form should have the words "PAE Expanded" at the bottom of the first page for best results.
Note: this is not something you can add. If the words are not present on your pdf form, you may need to use this form instead:
If your PDF form doesn't have "PAE Expanded" you can try it anyways. It will often work, but results may vary...
3. Training Plan Enhancement works best when it is working with as much initial information as possible. At a minimum, the document you submit should have text in the following fields:
Intern/Trainee Name
SEVIS Category
Training/Internship Field
Host Organization Name
POC Name
POC Title
For each Phase in the TiPP, provide the following:
Phase Name
Supervisor Name
P1 Supervisor Title
Not required, but will enhance the quality of the TiPP keywords or brief descriptions in each of the following fields, for each phase:
Description of Trainee/Intern's role for this program or phase.
Specific goals and objectives for this program or phase.
Please list the names and titles of those who will provide continuous (for example, daily) supervision of the Trainee/Intern, including the primary supervisor. What are these persons' qualifications to teach the planned learning?
