Remember - the fees cover the time you are actually IN the USA- not just the time you spend at your Internship.
You are allowed to apply to arrive in the USA up to 30 days before your official internship start date and apply to remain in the US for up to 30 days after your internship finishes but you will need to apply for this on the application and pay for the additional time in the USA
For example, if you are have a 12 month internship, but plan to fly out the week before AND stay the max 30 days after, this will mean a 14 month programme.
Please note: Your PROGRAM END DATE (the date you plan on leaving the USA must be on or after the end date for your internship as listed on your online DS-7002.

**Legal documents requiring Shipping outside the UK or Ireland will be charged accordingly.
Shipment outside the UK will be carried out by UPS International Couriers (or equivalent) and will be charged at an additional cost depending on courier fees

SEVIS Fees | Currently $220. SEVIS stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. This is incuded in your programme fees. Once your application has been approved, you will see instructions in your online account on how to download this - along with your DS-2019 Certificate and your online training plan (DS-7002) - you then take this to the embassy interview with you! |

US Embassy Interview (MRV) Fee |
This is currently $185 US Dollars and must be paid direct to the embassy at the time of booking the face to face interview for your J1 Visa. *You can only do this once you have been approved for your programme and received your DS-2019 Certificate). |
Flights to and from the USA | Participants are responsible for booking their own flights to and from the USA |
You must make sure these are entered into your online training plan before you sign! Without these dates we are unable to review or start the process for you.
You do not automatically qualify for time in the USA before or after your training dates. You MUST apply for this time as part of your application (see Program Dates above).
Under NO circumstances will we be able to extend your program dates in the USA for the purposes of tourism and travel AFTER you have travelled to the USA so should you wish to do so please make sure you apply for this on your application before you sign your training plan
*It's very important you choose the total dates you want to be in the USA . Once you have been approved and legal documents printed and shipped from the US, there will be a charge of at least £50 + any additional month charge for any changes.
There is a sliding scale of non-refundable charges based on the time you cancel your programme.

Neither IST Plus or CIEE can be held responsible if you fail to secure an embassy interview in time for your intended start date.
If you decide to cancel your programme as a result of embassy delays/ inability to secure an interview in time for your intended start date, the standard charge of £625 non-refundable fees (see below) will apply.

If your Visa is refused by the Embassy |
In case of visa refusal at embassy participants will be refunded programme fees minus £400 (this includes the non refundable SEVIS fee). This non-refundable fee rises to £600 if a site visit has take place as part of your application process). It is VITAL you inform IST Plus via email providing details of the refusal and also if possible provide a copy of the paperwork the embassy gives you showing the reason for the Visa denial. |
Denial of Sponsorship by CIEE |
£200 *If sponsorship is denied after a Site Visit has taken place (in very rare cases once a visit has taken place it becomes apparent Sponsorship can not be approved), this fee will rise to £350 |
If your placement finishes early |
Should your placement finish early (such as in the case of termination of employment for any reason), there will be no refund of programme fees. *Please note IST Plus is unable to assist with any search for a new US Host organisation in the case of early termination from your US Host Organisation |
