Summer camps in the U.S. offer a wide range of games, sports, arts, and crafts to inspire and engage campers. That’s why camp directors look for experienced counselors who can lead campers in a particular activity, especially the specialised activities like those listed on this page.

At Camp, there really is something for everyone - so take some time to read through the various options - and if you have any questions, just send us a message via our contact form!

What makes a Good Camp Counselor?

Don’t worry if you don’t have experience in the activities listed below; you can still apply to CIEE Camp Exchange USA!

General Counselor

This is truly the all rounder of Camp jobs - you'll be living and working with a group of kids, guiding them through their camp experience, there to lend a hand in any activities and helping to make the camp experience special for each and every child

Activity Specialist

As an activity specialist your main focus will be to engage directly with kids to teach them new activities and skills such as horseback riding, archery, field hockey, and more.

How Much do you earn?

The following is a guideline on how much you can expect to make during your Camp Programme

$100 additional payment if you are hired as a qualified Lifeguard
$100 additional payment if hired at a Special Needs Camp

The payment schedule is based on a standard 9 week contract (63 days). For contracts over 9 weeks, camps will normally pay an additional $35 USD per day to international counselors
